Emma has saved all of her good behaviour cards over the last 2 terms so that 5SK can have a movie and popcorn session in our classroom. Well done Emma

A Day Made Better 2014
Our teachers in Bowen are amazing! They spend many hours each week outside of class providing wonderful opportunities for their students such as training sporting teams, preparing for Wakakirri, travelling with the debating team, running class and student blogs, Premier’s Reading Cup and organising fundraising activities to assist with travel to events.
Office Max highlights the amazing teachers around Australia each year through – A Day Made Better.
‘Exceptional teachers do more than just teach – by going above and beyond the call of duty they inspire, nurture and encourage students to build knowledge, confidence and life-skills.
A Day Made Better rewards and recognises exceptional primary school teachers across the country. We invite parents, students, family and friends, as well as teachers, principals and school administrators to show their appreciation by giving them the recognition they deserve.
This year, ten exceptional teachers will be recognised for their inspirational work with a surprise event, $2,000 of OfficeMax arts, crafts, stationery and office supplies for their classroom, plus an Apple iPad.’ (Office Max)
Please show your support of our amazing teachers by either nominating them or leaving a comment on the Office Max – A Day Made Better site.
Mr Gaston
We welcomed Mr. Gaston to our class this week. Mr. Gaston is currently finishing his last year of training at the Australian Catholic University and completing his final practicum with 5SK. We are very blessed to have him work with our class until the 6th of June and look forward to all of the exciting learning opportunities ahead.
Anzac Day Parade
Students wishing to attend the Anzac service tomorrow morning can meet me near Mrs Hickmott’s newsagency at 8:50am.

Bring: hat and water bottle as it may be warm
Craft Stall
5SK are going to be in charge of the Craft Stall at our Queens Beach State School Fete on August 7. We are hoping to have a variety of items including traditional craft. We will have craft afternoons over the next few months to prepare for the day. All donations of items or materials are very welcome.
I will post some ideas on our blog over the upcoming months and if you can assist by either making or if you have items at home needed for the item please let me know.
Our Fete is the main fundraiser for the school and assists with resources for our classrooms like Smartboards, readers and sporting equipment. Your support is greatly appreciated by all staff and students.
Homework Club
There will be no homework club next week due to parent/teacher interviews. Please ring the office to book an interview time.
Dance Presentation
The upper school will be presenting their dances tomorrow afternoon in the last session. They have been working very hard this term to learn a variety of dances and are very keen to showcase their new skills.
Time: 1:30 pm onwards
Location: Parade Hall
Costume: The students have been asked to wear smart casual for the performance. Bring these clothes to school in a bag. If we find that the majority of students have uniforms only we will run with that.
Please note: The girls need to wear appropriate clothing for the hip hop dance.
I look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow afternoon for our performance.
Harmony Day and Crazy Sock Day
We are celebrating both Harmony Day and Crazy Sock Day tomorrow. Wear something orange and your craziest socks.
There will be a special presentation on during parade.
